The UK Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) said that the De Montfort University and Northumbria University have been added to the list of Academic Centres of Excellence in Cyber Security Research (ACEs-CSR).
The SELEP initiative is expected to enable education in rural locations, prisons and other areas which face barriers to technology and employment.
The funding is part of the government’s commitment to improve gender diversity in the tech sector and exploit new technologies to upskill and retrain adults.
